What the app does

Late Again lists the train lines you catch, worst first. Tap a row for the full notice. The departures board covers a station you choose, and setting a destination shows whether each train stops there. Alerts tell you once when a new disruption appears on a line you watch. It is free and there is no account.

Common questions

Alerts are not arriving

Open Settings and check three things. Alerts must be on. Tap Send a test alert; if it does not appear, your phone is blocking notifications for Late Again. Then check your quiet windows, which hold alerts back. Two are set from the start, 8pm to 6am every day and 10am to 4pm on weekdays. A commute rule narrows alerts further, to that one trip.

On iPhone and Android a server watches your operator and sends the alert, so a closed phone still gets one. On the web the page only notices while it is open. Close the tab and it misses what starts after.

The departures board is showing the wrong station

Tap the station name at the top of the board. Search for the station you leave from and pick it. If a station shows no trains when it plainly has some, search for it again and pick it from the results.

Settings says it is showing sample disruptions

That notice appears when the app cannot get live data from your operator. The lines on screen are then an example, not what the trains are doing. It clears itself the next time the live feed answers. If it stays for more than a day, tell us. That is a fault at our end.

A disruption looks wrong, or is missing

Late Again shows what your operator publishes, unedited. If the operator has not posted a notice, the app has nothing to show. Transport Canberra publishes no notices at all. Check the operator's own page, such as PTV live travel updates in Melbourne, before a decision that matters. If the two disagree, send us the line and the time.
