It counts to your stop
The figure is the time until you get off, which on a tunnel service is nowhere near the train’s last station. Under it the leg is drawn, with the station coming up named.

Watch it work
The Live Activity and Dynamic Island, the alert when you reach your station, the alarm before your stop, which trains stop at yours, and the whole network live. One minute.
The destination chip
Set TO BLACKBURN and each train says whether it stops there. Trains that run through are dimmed.
Follow a trip
Tap follow on one train and the lock screen counts to the stop you get off at, not the end of the line. GET OFF is when the train leaves the station before yours, not a ninety-second guess. Nothing starts it but you.
The countdown
UNTIL STATE LIBRARY
Minutes in the ring. Next stop across the camera.
Then GET OFF
GET OFF
State Library
When it is time, the island says OFF.
The figure is the time until you get off, which on a tunnel service is nowhere near the train’s last station. Under it the leg is drawn, with the station coming up named.
The card says GET OFF when the train leaves the station before yours, not because a clock ran down. ARRIVED stays a minute, then the island and the lock screen go together. The button becomes I’VE ARRIVED if the timetable says you should be there and nobody has confirmed it.
A server rewrites the card as the train moves, on iPhone and as a shade notification on Android, without opening the app. When it cannot, the card says how old the reading is rather than holding a number still.

Station alarm
Turn it on in Settings. It keeps ringing until you stop it, on this phone or a paired Apple Watch. It still rings overnight.
GET OFF NEXT
State Library is the next stop.
STOPIt needs a followed trip and a named get-off station. Without those there is nothing honest to ring for.
Stop on the phone or on a paired Apple Watch stops both. It is an alarm, not another banner you can swipe away and miss.
Line alerts wait until morning. This alarm does not. You turned it on so it would get through.

Alerts that know your commute
Tell the app your commute and you only hear about faults that touch it.
Signal fault at Caulfield, delays of 20 min
A rule is one trip. Carnegie to State Library, weekdays, 8 to 9:30. Set none and you hear about every line you watch.
Nothing arrives 8pm to 6am, or 10am to 4pm on weekdays. Anything still running when a window ends reaches you then.
Hold the alert on iPhone, expand it on Android, then choose “Mute this window” or “Mute today”. The mute lifts itself.
When your line is down
When your line is suspended, Late Again finds the trains still running, the station to get off at, and the walk at the end. Home and work never leave your phone.
Cranbourne and Pakenham lines suspended
Sunbury · Glen Waverley lines
17:12 → 18:08 (56 min) · 1 change
18 min walk to home, or get picked up
Save home and work as a station and a walk you are happy with, and the app works out where to put you down.
The alert that says your line is down also says what to try instead.
Replacement buses are a setting, not an assumption. Leave them off and you stay on rails and on foot.
Trip planning
The planner covers city and country trains together. It picks the change that gets you there soonest.
Six minutes at Southern Cross, three across a platform at Caulfield. Settings can add two or five minutes more.
Past the myki boundary, the trip says the V/Line fare is bought separately.
Albury, Bairnsdale, Swan Hill, Warrnambool and Shepparton are sold by the seat. A trip that uses one says so.
Five cities, seven networks
Each city keeps its own lines, stations and rules. Switching city takes one tap.
Metro Trains and V/Line. Alamein to Williamstown, plus Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Traralgon and Seymour.
Sydney Trains T1 to T9, the M1 Metro, light rail, Newcastle and the intercity lines.
Queensland Rail, Airport to Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast G:link.
Adelaide Metro trains, Belair to Seaford, and the Glenelg tram.
Light rail, Gungahlin Place to Alinga Street.

What it does
One alert when a disruption starts. No repeats while it lasts.
At 6:40am you want the one that has gone wrong, not a list of seventeen.
On iPhone and Android a server watches your operator and sends the alert. On the web the page only notices while it is open.
Transport Canberra posts no service alerts. Canberra reads as running to timetable, and the app says why.
The loading screen
While a board loads you get a real train in its operator's paint. Settings tours all ten.
Over the Sydney Harbour Bridge
Across the Merivale bridge, the Story Bridge behind it
Down Northbourne Avenue, Black Mountain beyond
A level crossing, and the sky rail that replaced one
Adelaide Oval, across the Torrens
The only colour on the screen
The app has no brand colour of its own. Everything else on screen is grey.
Free on the App Store. The Android beta is open on Google Play.
