Terms of Service
For Late Again. Last updated 4 October 2026.
These terms are the agreement between you and Harfred Labs ("we", "us") for your use of Late Again (the "app"), on iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and the web. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
Travel information is not a guarantee
Timetable, live and disruption information in Late Again comes from the transport agencies of the cities it covers, under their open-data licences: Public Transport Victoria, Transport for NSW, Translink (Queensland), Adelaide Metro and Transport Canberra. We pass that information on; we do not produce it, check it or correct it. It can be late, incomplete, wrong, or overtaken by events on the network, and the app can be wrong for the ordinary reasons software is wrong: a request that failed, a phone with no signal, a notification your phone chose not to show.
So: do not rely on this app alone for a journey that matters. Confirm with the operator, the station displays or staff before a decision you cannot take back. Times, platforms, stopping patterns, journey options, walking times, fares and replacement services shown in the app are estimates.
Alarms, alerts and Follow are aids, not guarantees
The station alarm, the arrival notice, alerts and the Live Activity (Follow) depend on live data, on your phone's location, notification, Focus and battery settings, and on Apple's and Google's push services. Any of them can be late, wrong or not arrive at all. Do not rely on them to wake you, to get you off at the right stop, or to make a connection. Keep your own awareness of where you are.
Use it safely
Do not use the app in a way that puts you or anyone else at risk: not while driving or cycling, not near the platform edge or on tracks, and not in a way that distracts you from your surroundings, staff instructions or safety announcements. Always follow the directions of transport staff and the law.
Not affiliated with any transport agency
Late Again is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Public Transport Victoria, the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning, Metro Trains Melbourne, V/Line, Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains, NSW TrainLink, Translink, Queensland Rail, Adelaide Metro, Transport Canberra or Canberra Metro. Line names and colours are used only to identify the services they belong to.
Using the app
Late Again is free to download and has no accounts. Alerts and Follow are a paid subscription (see below); everything else is free. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms. You may not sell or rent the app, and you may not reverse-engineer it except to the extent your local law says you may regardless of an agreement like this one.
Subscription
Alerts that reach a locked phone, Follow (the lock-screen card and the station alarm) and the test alert are a subscription, offered yearly or monthly. It is bought, billed, renewed and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play, and their terms apply to the payment. Prices are shown in the app before you buy, as the store sets them for your country.
- Where a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. Each account can have the trial once.
- The subscription renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings or in Google Play under Subscriptions; the app's Settings screen links to both.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- When a subscription ends, alerts and Follow stop and the app says so. The rest of the app keeps working.
On iPhone, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. See the privacy policy for what a subscription stores.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, to a transport agency's, or to anyone else's;
- interfere with the app's operation, or place an unreasonable load on our servers, including automated scraping of the data the app fetches.
If you do any of these we may block your access, with notice where it is practical to give it.
Your settings are yours
The lines you watch and your settings are stored on your device. We claim no rights over them. If you turn alerts on in the iPhone or Android app, a copy of your notification token, your watched lines and stations, your quiet hours and your timezone offset is held on our server so it can reach a closed phone; turning alerts off deletes it. Uninstalling the app deletes everything on the device, and we cannot recover it. See the privacy policy for the detail.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Late Again available and working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The data sources are outside our control and can be unavailable. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, or the app itself, and will give reasonable notice where we can. The app may update itself to fix problems or deliver improvements.
Disclaimers
Late Again is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties, representations and conditions not set out in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a guarantee, warranty, right or remedy that your local consumer law does not permit us to exclude. In Australia, the Australian Consumer Law guarantees apply regardless of anything written here.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that arises from your use of, or reliance on, Late Again or the information in it, including: a missed or delayed train, connection, appointment, flight, shift or event; the cost of other transport, fares, fines or accommodation; an alarm, alert or notice that was late, wrong or did not arrive; acts or omissions of transport operators, data providers, Apple or Google; and any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, opportunity or data.
Where we are liable and the law lets us limit that liability, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of AUD $50 and the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months before the claim arose. Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and lets us limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
This section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit.
Your responsibility
To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover us for any claim, loss or cost that results from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the app.
Ending this agreement
You may stop using Late Again and delete it at any time. We may end this agreement if you materially breach these terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive, such as disclaimers and liability limits, do.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its date. If a change materially reduces your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use the app afterwards means you accept the new terms.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we have not waived it. These terms, with the privacy policy and the store's terms, are the whole agreement between us about the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts have jurisdiction. This does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, or of your right to bring a claim there.
